Bulls Primary Logo

The South Florida Bulls' primary logo history is a long and storied one. The original logo, which was introduced in 1997 when the team first joined Division 1-A of college football, featured an angry bull with a flaming mane bursting through the letter “U” that represented the University of South Florida. This iconic symbol quickly became associated with USF athletics and its teams were nicknamed "Bulls" in honor of this powerful image.

In 2008, USF unveiled its new primary logo featuring an updated version of the same bull design but now set against a black background instead of white as before. This change was made to better reflect the school's colors (green & gold) while still keeping true to its original mascot concept. While some fans lamented over this alteration at first, it eventually grew on them as they embraced it for what it had become: A strong representation of all things related to USF Athletics!

Today's current iteration features yet another update - this time replacing both green & gold color schemes from before with red & black instead; giving off a more contemporary look and feel overall while still maintaining that classic Bull spirit we've come to know so well over years past! It's safe to say that no matter what changes come about down the line future generations will always remember where our beloved mascot came from – right here at the University of South Florida!
