Panthers Alternate Logo
The Northern Iowa Panthers are an NCAA Division I college athletic program located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Panthers have had an illustrious history over the years and their alternate logo is no exception.
The first iteration of the Panther’s alternate logo was unveiled in 2004 when it replaced an older version that featured a more traditional panther head with stripes across its face. This new design included a more modern take on the classic UNI mascot, featuring two crossed swords behind its head and body as well as white accents all around to give it some extra flair. The blue eyes also stand out against the black background which makes for an eye-catching look overall.
Since then, there have been several variations of this original design released by Northern Iowa Athletics throughout their history including one with purple accents instead of white ones (2006), another featuring just one sword (2008), and most recently one that features both swords but has yellow highlights along with red trimming around them (2015). All these different versions help keep things fresh while still maintaining familiarity among fans who recognize what they represent – namely strength, courage, and victory!
Overall, Northern Iowa’s alternate logos are great examples of how even small changes can make big impacts when done right; they provide a visual representation of everything that goes into making up this proud university’s athletics program while simultaneously staying true to its roots at every turn!
