Golden Eagles Wordmark Logo

The Marquette Golden Eagles wordmark logo has been a part of the university’s history since its inception in 1881. The original logo featured an eagle with outstretched wings and a shield, which is still used today as the school's official seal. The current version of the wordmark was introduced in 1994 and features bold lettering with “MARQUETTE” written above “GOLDEN EAGLES” on two lines. This new design was created to better reflect the modern look that many other universities had adopted at this time, while also staying true to tradition by incorporating elements from previous logos such as gold coloring for both words and a font that resembles traditional calligraphy writing style.

Since its introduction, there have been some minor changes made to ensure consistency across all platforms; however, these modifications have not drastically altered how it looks or functions within different contexts like apparel or signage around campus buildings. Additionally, additional versions featuring specific sports teams (i.e., basketball) were developed for use during games but are still based on the same basic design concept seen throughout all uses - making sure everyone knows they are connected back to one source: Marquette University!
