Red Raiders Primary Logo
The Texas Tech Red Raiders' primary logo is one of the most iconic symbols in college athletics. It has been a part of the university’s identity for over 80 years and continues to be an important symbol for students, alumni, and fans alike. The history behind this beloved logo dates back to 1936 when it was first introduced as part of the school’s football uniform design. At that time, it featured a black double-T with red trim on either side – which quickly became known as “the Double T” or “Double Trouble".
Since then, there have been several variations on this classic design throughout its long history at Texas Tech University. In 1972, designer Jimmie Heuga created an updated version featuring two interlocking Ts in scarlet red and white colors – which remains largely unchanged today (with some minor modifications). This iconic image can now be seen all around campus: from jerseys worn by athletes to banners hung up during game days; from t-shirts sold at local stores to hats donned by proud supporters everywhere!
The symbolism behind this timeless logo speaks volumes about what being a Red Raider truly means loyalty & pride; strength & courage; passion & dedication - all encapsulated within one simple yet powerful symbol that stands out among others like no other! No matter where you go or who you meet - if they see your Double T-shirt they will know immediately that you are not only representing your alma mater but also embodying these values every day!
