Eagles Alternate Logo
The Eastern Washington Eagles have a long and proud history of athletics, with the university’s teams have won numerous championships in various sports. But one thing that often goes overlooked is the school’s alternate logos. Over the years, these designs have evolved to reflect changes in style and trends while still maintaining a consistent connection to Eastern Washington's past.
In its earliest days, Eastern Washington used an eagle head logo as its primary symbol for athletics programs. This design featured a red-and-black color scheme with two wings extending from either side of the bird's face and was used by all teams until 1984 when it was replaced by another version featuring more detail around the eyes and beak area as well as some subtle texturing on its feathers.
Over time this design has been tweaked slightly but remains largely unchanged since it first debuted over 35 years ago—a testament to how timelessly iconic it truly is! In recent years, however, EWU Athletics has begun introducing new alternate logos that draw inspiration from different aspects of their storied history such as their Native American heritage or symbols associated with nearby Spokane County like mountains or riverscapes. These modern designs offer fans something fresh yet familiar at once; they are both recognizably “Eastern” yet also distinctly unique compared to other schools' visual identities across college sports today!
At present there are three main versions of EWU Athletics' logo: The original Eagle Head (1984), an updated version called "Eagle Feather" (2018) which features more intricate detailing along with bolder colors including gold accents; And lastly, there's "Eagle Spirit" (2020) which incorporates elements inspired by traditional tribal patterns into its overall look for greater visual impact than ever before! All told these three distinct variations provide fans everywhere plenty of opportunities to show off their team pride no matter what occasion may arise - whether cheering on game day or simply expressing themselves through fashion & lifestyle items alike!
