Rams Alternate Logo

The Rhode Island Rams are an NCAA Division I athletics program that has been around since 1951. The school is a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and its mascot is Rhody the Ram. Over the years, there have been several different logos used to represent this storied athletic program.

One of those alternate logos was introduced in 2010 as part of a rebranding effort for all University sports teams at that time. The logo featured a blue ram head with white horns on either side, set against an orange background with “Rhode Island” written across it in navy blue text. This logo was only used for two seasons before being replaced by another new design in 2012 which featured more modernized graphics and colors such as black and silver instead of navy blue and orange from before.

In 2016, yet another redesign occurred when Rhode Island unveiled its current primary mark featuring a bolder version of the original ram head along with updated font styles to go along with it; however, they also kept some elements from previous designs such as keeping their signature color scheme intact (blue/orange). In addition to this primary mark, they also created two other versions including one where just “URI” appears inside an outline shape resembling Rhody's horned face while another features both URI & RAMS on opposite sides separated by three stars representing each letter respectively (R-A-M).

Overall these various designs over time have helped keep up interest in what many consider one of New England's premier collegiate athletics programs - even though none may be quite like its classic 1950s look or feel! Whether you're rooting for them during basketball season or any other sport throughout the year; make sure you show your support by sporting some gear bearing these iconic symbols!
