Seminoles Alternate Logo
The Florida State Seminoles have a long and storied history, with their alternate logo being no exception. The first alternate logo was introduced in 1978 as part of the school's new identity package. It featured an orange spearhead surrounded by green circles, representing the school's colors and mascot at the time. This design lasted until 1993 when it was replaced with a more modern look featuring two interlocking Fs inside of an oval shape to represent Florida State University and its athletic program.
In 2003, another redesign took place that included a bolder version of the interlocking Fs within an orange circle bordered by white lines to represent the unity between students, faculty members, alumni, and fans alike; this is still used today as one of their primary logos for athletics apparel such as t-shirts or hats worn on game days or other special occasions associated with Florida State Athletics programs.
Throughout its history since 1978 up until present day 2020, the Seminole’s alternate logo has been tweaked several times but remains largely unchanged from its original form while still representing all aspects related to what it means to be part of “Seminole Nation”: strength through unity & loyalty among those who proudly wear garnet & gold!
