Shockers Alternate Logo
Wichita State Shockers' alternate logo history is a long and storied one. The school has used various logos over the years, dating back to its founding in 1895. From its inception, Wichita State University has had an official logo that symbolizes the spirit of excellence for which it stands. However, throughout the decades there have been many variations of this iconic design – some more successful than others!
The most well-known alternate logo for Wichita State is known as “The Shocker”—a cartoon character with two lightning bolts coming out of his hands and a stern look on his face. This mascot was adopted by students in 1967 as an homage to their beloved basketball team—the Shockers! Since then it has become synonymous with all things WSU related; from sports teams to student organizations and even campus events like Homecoming Week celebrations!
In recent years, Wichita State's athletic department unveiled a new primary logo featuring updated colors and graphics that better reflect modern trends while still maintaining ties to tradition through elements such as the classic font style used for "Shockers". Additionally, they've also released several secondary logos including ones specifically designed for their men's basketball team (featuring both traditional black & white color schemes) or those associated with special initiatives like “Go, Green, Go White” campaigns promoting sustainability efforts throughout campus life at WSU. These modernized designs help keep up with changing times while keeping true to what makes us proud supporters: our commitment to excellence no matter what challenges lie ahead!
