Rams Primary Logo
Since its inception in 1907, Fordham University has proudly represented the Rams as its official mascot. In that time, there have been numerous iterations of the school's primary logo featuring this beloved symbol. From classic designs to modern updates, each version has helped define and represent the spirit of Fordham for generations of students and alumni alike.
The first iteration of a Ram logo was introduced in 1936 when it appeared on various athletic uniforms worn by football players at that time. This design featured a bold silhouette illustration with an aggressive stance and prominent horns pointing outward from its head – an image that would become iconic over time as many variations were created based on this initial concept.
In 1965, a more refined version was released featuring two rams facing one another with their heads bowed together – representing unity among all members within the Fordham community while also paying homage to classical Greek mythology where rams are often used as symbols for courage and strength during times adversity or difficulty (as seen through Aries’ story). The current “Ram Head” logo is derived from this original design but updated with cleaner lines for greater impact across digital platforms like social media channels today; however, both versions still remain popular amongst fans who prefer traditional branding elements over newer ones!
Over 100 years later since its introduction into university culture -the Ram remains synonymous with excellence at every level here at Fordham University; no matter what form it may take next we can be sure that our beloved mascot will continue leading us forward into greatness!
