Pilots Primary Logo
The Portland Pilots are an NCAA Division I college basketball team that plays in the West Coast Conference. The team has had several different logos over the years, but its primary logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in all of the sports.
The current logo was designed by Nike and first used during the 1995-1996 season. It features an eagle soaring above a shield with three stars on it, representing Oregon's three major universities: the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and Portland State University. The colors were chosen to represent each school’s respective colors; green for UO, orange for OSU, and blue for PSU respectively.
This design has been used ever since its introduction nearly 25 years ago as both teams' primary logos have remained unchanged throughout this time period despite some minor tweaks here and there such as font changes or slight color variations when needed due to printing restrictions or other external factors like uniforms etc. This consistency speaks volumes about how much pride fans take in their beloved mascot which is why it remains so popular today among students and alumni alike!
In addition to being featured prominently on various apparel items like hats t-shirts hoodies etc., this iconic symbol can also be found at home games where banners featuring it hang proudly from rafters inside Moda Center (formerly Rose Garden Arena). Additionally, if you look closely enough while attending any game you'll notice small patches sewn onto player jerseys just above the left breast pocket area which feature the same exact design - further proof that no matter what happens on the court these players always remain, loyal members, Pilot Nation!
