Bears Alternate Logo
The Central Arkansas Bears have a long and storied history when it comes to their alternate logo. The first iteration of the alternate logo was created in 1994 when the team changed its name from the University of Central Arkansas Bears to simply “Central Arkansas”. This new logo featured an abstract bear head with a red outline and white interior, along with two stars above its head representing victory.
In 2005, after several years as part of Division I college athletics, Central Arkansas decided to switch up its branding once again by introducing a more modern version of its original bear head design. This time around they opted for an updated take on the same concept but featuring bolder lines and brighter colors that better represented school spirit than before. Additionally, this version included three stars instead of two - symbolizing excellence in all areas: academics, athletics, and community service - which has become synonymous with UCA’s mission statement ever since then.
Today's current mascot is still based on this 2005 redesign but includes some slight modifications such as larger eyes for increased expressiveness or sharper claws giving it a much-needed edge over other teams' mascots! It also features four stars now rather than just three--a reminder that no matter how hard life may get at times we can always strive toward greatness if we put our minds together! With these changes made throughout time, one thing remains true; Bear Nation will forever be proud supporters of UCA's beloved mascot!
