Golden Eagles Alternate Logo

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles have a long and proud history of athletic success, but many don't know that their logo has evolved over the years. The original logo featured an eagle's head with wings spread wide across a shield-like backdrop. This design was used from the school's inception in 1963 until 1979, when it was replaced by a more modern take on the classic emblem.

The second iteration of ORU’s logo featured an eagle soaring above three mountains, representing the core values of faith, learning, and service at Oral Roberts University. This version lasted until 2008, when it underwent another transformation to include two eagles facing each other against a blue sky background with “ORU” written underneath them in bold lettering.

In 2017, ORU unveiled its current alternate logos, featuring several interpretations of their iconic bird mascot, such as one showing him flying through flames or standing atop crossed swords while holding lightning bolts in his talons as symbols for strength and power, respectively. Each new design pays homage to past designs while offering something fresh for fans to enjoy!
