Cowboys Alternate Logo
The University of Wyoming Cowboys have a long and storied history, and the same can be said for their alternate logos. From classic to modern designs, these symbols of pride capture the spirit of Cowboy football.
The first alternate logo was introduced in 1994 as part of an effort to update the school's image. The design featured a bucking horse with “WYO” written across its back surrounded by stars representing each state in which Wyoming has campuses (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Utah). This logo remained unchanged until 2003 when it was replaced with another iteration featuring just one star on either side instead of four.
This version is still used today but has been tweaked slightly over time for clarity purposes or to fit different marketing campaigns such as “Ride On” or “Cowboy Up!” In 2011, an additional logo featuring two crossed guns above a red-and-black shield was added along with several other variations that feature various combinations between them all including changing colors from browns/beiges/yellows into blues/greens/reds etcetera depending on what look they are going for at any given moment.
In addition to these primary marks, there have also been some fun secondary ones like those made specifically for bowl games played during December 2017 which included snowflakes around cowboy hats; 2018 saw multiple versions celebrating 100th-anniversary celebrations while 2019 brought us special editions honoring Native American tribes living within state borders – something unique only found here at UW! Finally, 2020 marked yet another change this time introducing white outlines around both main logos making them stand out even more against backgrounds where needed while also adding subtle details like horseshoes tucked away inside negative space areas throughout each piece too - definitely worth checking out if you haven't already done so already!
Overall it's clear that no matter what decade we're talking about here UW always manages to find ways to keep things fresh without straying too far from their traditional roots - something fans both old & young alike can appreciate year-round whether they're watching live-action NCAA Football Saturdays or simply wearing apparel sporting latest updated graphics proudly wherever else life takes them next...
