Antelopes Alternate Logo

The Grand Canyon Antelopes have a long and proud history of athletic excellence, but few people know about the team’s alternate logo history. Since its inception in 1949, the school has undergone several iterations of its iconic antelope head logo.

In the beginning, an orange-and-black version with a simple antelope silhouette featured prominently on uniforms and merchandise until it was replaced by a more modernized look in 1999. This new design featured an updated color palette—blue and gold—and sharper lines to create a bolder visual impact for fans cheering on their favorite teams at games.
The blue-and-gold logo remained unchanged until 2019 when they decided to update their look with something even more eye-catching, this time featuring purple instead of blue along with white accents to give it some extra pop against any background or uniform colors! The latest version also features three stars above the antelope's head, representing each decade since GCU's founding (1949–2019).

As sports fans, we can appreciate how vital logos are for teams – not only do they help define who you are as an organization, but they also provide us with something tangible that we can rally around during big moments both on & off the field! With such strong symbolism behind them – it’s no wonder why so many schools keep updating theirs over time while still maintaining those same core elements that make them recognizable year after year!
