Wolverines Wordmark Logo

The Utah Valley Wolverines are a proud NCAA Division I athletics program member, and an iconic logo represents their brand identity. The current wordmark logo has been used since 2011, but its history dates back to the early 1990s when it was first used as a secondary mark for the school’s athletic teams. Over time, this design became increasingly popular with fans and alumni alike until it was officially adopted as the primary wordmark logo in 2011.

The original design featured two large U-shaped letters joined at their base to form one unified letterform – hence why many people refer to it simply as “the double U” or “double V” logo. This typeface also had serifs on each letter, giving off a classic collegiate feel that resonated well with sports fans everywhere! Additionally, two stars were placed above and below these letters, adding extra visual interest while representing Utah Valley University (UVU) and its athletic teams, respectively.

Over time, however, minor changes have been made to modernize this iconic look, such as removing any serif details from each letterform or making them slightly thicker than before - all without removing what makes this particular design so unique: its simplicity & timelessness! As we move forward into 2021 & beyond, we can expect more subtle tweaks like these to be made throughout every aspect of UVU Athletics branding, including our beloved Wolverine Wordmark Logo!
