Titans Alternate Logo
For decades, the Cal State Fullerton Titans have proudly represented their school and its values with a variety of logos. Over the years, these symbols have evolved to reflect changes in design trends as well as changes within the university itself. Today we’re taking a look back at some of these iconic designs that helped shape one of California’s most beloved college teams.
The original logo featured an orange shield with two crossed swords beneath it and “CSF” written across the center in white letters. This was used from 1960 until 1980 when it was replaced by another version featuring an orange circle outlined in black around three white stars representing each arm of CSU Fullerton's tripartite mission – teaching, research, and public service – along with “Titans" written inside. The third iteration came shortly after this one featuring just two stars above "Cal State Fullerton" which lasted until 1997 when they dropped all text for a more abstract design incorporating three interlocking shapes resembling mountains or pyramids on top of blue waves symbolizing both water conservation efforts taken by CSUF students and faculty members over time as well as their proximity to nearby beaches like Huntington Beach or Newport Beach.
In 2011, Cal State Fullerton unveiled yet another logo: A stylized letter F formed out four curved lines coming together at points around its circumference; this is meant to represent both unities among those affiliated with Titan athletics (students/alumni/faculty) while also being reminiscent traditional shields seen throughout history (such Roman legionnaires). With such rich symbolism behind them all, it's no wonder why so many fans are proud to wear any variation of these classic emblems!
