Sycamores Primary Logo
The Indiana State Sycamores are one of the most storied college basketball programs in the country, and their primary logo has been around for decades. The iconic design features a sycamore tree with an ISU monogram at its center. It is a symbol of strength and resilience that resonates with fans across generations.
The original version of the logo was created in 1962 by legendary designer Bill Stickels, who also designed logos for other notable teams such as the Chicago Bulls and San Francisco 49ers. The design featured two large sycamore trees flanking an ISU monogram at its center, which represented both school pride and stability within athletics programs nationwide. Over time, minor changes were made to modernize it while still keeping true to Stickels’ original vision: In 1988, a more stylized font was added; then in the 2000–2001 season they changed from red & white colors to blue & yellow; finally adding shading elements on each side of tree trunk in 2006-07 season.
While many universities have updated their logos over time (and some even completely rebranded), Indiana State has kept this classic look intact since its inception—a testament to how much history it carries with it today! This timeless symbol is now synonymous not only with Sycamores basketball but also with all sports teams throughout campus as well as alumni everywhere who proudly display this beloved emblem on clothing or car decals whenever possible!
