Owls Alternate Logo
The Temple Owls have had an interesting history when it comes to their alternate logos. Since the late 1990s, they have used a variety of different designs in order to represent the school and its athletics teams. The first logo that was created for them was a shield with two owls on either side and a “Temple” written across the top. This design has been around since 1998 and is still used today as one of their primary logos.
In 2006, Temple decided to introduce another logo into their collection—a more modernized version of the original owl design featuring a larger owl head with wings spread out wide behind it while keeping “Temple” written across its chest area. This new look quickly became popular amongst students, alumni, and fans alike as it represented strength through unity which is something that resonates deeply within Owl culture even today!
Finally, in 2012, Temple introduced yet another alternate logo: an abstracted version of both previous designs combined into one cohesive image featuring two overlapping circles representing each individual owl from before as well as three stars above them all meant to symbolize excellence within academics & athletics at Temple University! Although this last addition may not be seen quite often due to other more commonly-used symbols associated with Owls Athletics such as those displayed on uniforms or marketing materials; many people still recognize this unique take on traditional branding elements found throughout collegiate sports programs nationwide!
