A full-body shot of the mascot, Paydirt Pete, captured in an aggressive, mid-stride run toward the right. He wears an orange collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves beneath navy blue denim overalls, which prominently display the "UTEP" acronym in custom orange block typography across the chest bib. Wearing a hard hat with a prominent headlamp, Pete sports a thick, dark beard and a stern, determined expression. He holds an orange and wooden pickaxe in his trailing right hand while clenching his leading left hand into a fist, in bright orange, navy blue, light gold, and clean white highlights.
New Pete has been modernized, while harkening back to the popular “retro” logo that epitomized the Miners in their ‘80s heyday.
