Colonials Primary Logo
The George Washington Colonials have a long and storied history, dating back to the early days of American collegiate sports. The primary logo for the team has changed over time, but it has always been an iconic symbol of GW pride.
In its earliest incarnation, the Colonials' logo was a simple circle with two swords crossed in front of it. This design was chosen because it represented strength and unity among all members of GW's student body—something that is still true today! As time went on, this original design evolved into something more intricate and detailed; eventually culminating in what we know as their current primary logo: a shield featuring three stars at its center surrounded by 13 stripes representing each colony from which our nation originated.
This modern version also includes several other elements meant to represent various aspects associated with George Washington University such as their academic excellence (the book), athletic prowess (the sword), commitment to service (the laurel wreath), and patriotism (the flag). All these pieces come together beautifully to create one cohesive image that encapsulates everything great about being part of such an amazing school!
No matter how many times they tweak or update their primary logo throughout the years, one thing will remain constant: The spirit behind every iteration will always be rooted firmly in tradition while simultaneously looking ahead toward progress – just like our beloved university itself!
