Braves Alternate Logo
The Bradley Braves have a long and storied history in NCAA basketball, with their iconic logo being one of the most recognizable symbols in college sports. While the primary logo has remained relatively unchanged since its introduction in 1965, there have been several alternate logos used throughout the years that help to capture different aspects of this historic program. From classic designs to modern interpretations, here is a look at some of the unique Bradley Braves alternate logos from over time.
The first notable design was introduced for use during the 1976-77 season when coach Dick Versace took over as head coach for Bradley University’s men's basketball team. This version featured an interlocking “B” and “U” set within a shield shape surrounded by two stars on either side – symbolizing excellence both on and off the court. The colors were also changed from navy blue to brown which became known as "Braves Brown." This design would go on to be used until 1989 when it was replaced by another more traditional take featuring just a single B intertwined with an eagle inside an oval frame – representing strength through unity between players and staff alike while also paying homage to Native American culture associated with athletics at universities across America.
In 2004 yet another new redesign emerged featuring three feathers located above what appeared like flames below crossed tomahawks - highlighting bravery among students who donned those uniforms each game day - but this particular iteration didn't last very long before reverting back once again just four seasons later. Finally, after much deliberation amongst alumni fans and administration members alike, 2019 ushered forth perhaps one most beloved mark date: A bolder brighter version original 1976 emblem complete with an updated color scheme (brown-white gold) plus an additional star center top to signify further greatness achieved university-level competition.
Whether you are cheering them on during March Madness or simply looking back fondly upon past successes, these various takes official mascots to serve as reminders of why we all love watching our favorite teams compete for a collegiate level no matter how they choose to represent themselves visually!
