Blue Demons Alternate Logo

The DePaul Blue Demons' alternate logo history is filled with unique and interesting designs, each of which has helped to define the school’s image over the years. From its inception in 1912, when it was known as St. Vincent College, to today’s modern university identity, DePaul has used a variety of logos throughout its long history.

One of the earliest versions featured an angel holding a shield emblazoned with “StV C” for St. Vincent College in a Gothic script font on a blue background; this design lasted until 1937 when it was replaced by another version featuring an eagle and shield that contained “DeP C” for De Paul University Center (now called The Loop). This particular logo only lasted two years before being replaced by yet another variation: a red demon head wearing horns atop crossed bones set against a black background – this one would become synonymous with all things related to DePaul athletics up until 1992!

In 1992 there were several changes made including introducing new colors like navy blue & white as well as replacing their traditional demonic mascot head logo with something more contemporary - thus began what we know now as their current alternative "Blue Demon" mark which features three stylized letter D's inside a circular shape along w/blue & white accents around it; while still paying homage to original design elements from past iterations such as wings at top corners or curved horns at bottom points! All these alterations have come together perfectly over time creating one cohesive symbol that truly represents everything about the institution itself - strong academic excellence combined with powerful athletic prowess!
