Matadors Alternate Logo
The Cal State Northridge Matadors are a college sports team with a long and storied history. Over the years, they have had several alternate logos that represent their school spirit and pride. In this blog post, we will take a look at some of these iconic designs that have been used to represent the Matadors over the years.
The first logo was introduced in 1975 when CSUN joined Division I athletics as part of the NCAA’s Big West Conference. The design featured an anthropomorphic bull mascot holding up its right arm in victory while wearing an athletic uniform bearing “CSUN” on it along with stars representing California state flags around him/her (the gender is never specified). This original logo served as CSUN's primary emblem until 2006 when it was replaced by another design featuring two crossed sabers above a shield containing "CSN" written across it - symbolizing strength and courage for which all matador athletes strive during competition.
In 2009, the university unveiled yet another new logo: A stylized letter “M” made up of three curved lines intersecting each other at different angles – representing both movement & power associated with matador athletes competing on various fields or courts throughout America's collegiate landscape! This particular version has become one of the most recognizable symbols associated not only within the campus but also outside amongst fans & alumni alike; serving proudly alongside the current official colors red & black since then till today!
Overall, Cal State Northridge has had many unique logos throughout its history that reflect upon its strong identity as well as the pride held by students and faculty members alike who make up such an integral part of this great institution located near Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley region! We hope you enjoyed learning about some of our past emblems here today - Go, MATADORS!!
