Bengals Alternate Logo
The Idaho State Bengals have a long and storied history of logos, with the most prominent being their current logo. However, over the years they have had several alternate logos that are just as iconic. Let’s take a look at some of these classic designs!
One of the earliest alternate logos was used in 1979 and featured an orange Bengal tiger head on top of two crossed swords with “ISU” written across it in white lettering. This design was only used for one year before being replaced by another logo featuring a more aggressive-looking Bengal tiger head surrounded by flames and sporting an orange mane. This version also included “Bengals” written across it but no longer included ISU or any other text associated with Idaho State University itself.
Another notable design from this era is known as the "Mountain Logo" which features three mountains surrounding an abstracted representation of a Bengal's face inside what looks to be either sunrays or clouds depending on how you interpret them (it could even be both). The mountain range depicted here is said to resemble those found around Pocatello where Idaho State University is located, making this particular logo very unique when compared to other college teams' marks at that time period (and even now!).
In 2007, yet another new alternative mark emerged: The Red Claw Logo which featured just what its title implies - A ferocious-looking red claw set against black background complete with sharpened claws ready for battle! This symbol has become increasingly popular amongst fans due to its boldness & ferocity; perfect characteristics for representing such fierce competitors like our beloved Bengals!
Finally, we come full circle back around again today where we find ourselves presented once more with yet another modernized version – The White Claw Logo – Which still retains all elements from previous iterations while adding some extra flair via white accents throughout giving off vibes similar if not identical than those given off by our original 1979 crest mentioned earlier!
Over 40 years later after first debuting their iconic mascot & accompanying visuals; It seems fitting then that today's iteration should pay homage back to its roots while keeping up pace alongside ever-changing trends within the collegiate sports branding landscape overall - And thus concludes our brief journey through the Idaho States Alternate Logos History timeline.
