Screaming Eagles Primary Logo
For sports fans, the logo of a team is often an iconic symbol that evokes nostalgia and pride. The Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles are no exception to this rule. Since its inception in 1995, the team has proudly displayed its primary logo on everything from jerseys to hats and beyond. But what does it mean? Let's take a look at the history behind this unique design!
The original Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles primary logo was designed by local artist Doug Bailey in 1995 as part of an effort to create a unique identity for the newly formed NCAA Division II program. The simple yet powerful design features two red eagles with wings outstretched against a white background - representing strength, power, and courage - all qualities associated with being an Eagle!
The main colors used in this classic emblem are black, red, and white which represents loyalty (black), passion (red), and purity (white). This combination creates strong visual contrast while also conveying important values that embody what it means to be part of something special like college athletics or even life itself. Additionally, each eagle is facing forward – suggesting progressiveness – another core value held dear by those who wear these colors proudly across campus grounds every day!
In addition to its symbolic meaning within collegiate athletics circles around America; there’s also some historical significance attached too: Red & White were chosen because they were once used as school colors before becoming official university ones after World War 2 when SICU officially became known as “Southern Indiana University” instead just being called “SICU” or simply referred-to informally using initials such-as "SI". It was then decided upon during those times that these two hues should become staples amongst anything related directly towards SIU Athletics programs moving forward into future generations...and so here we now stand today with them still intact over 25 years later since first appearing back then way back when originally created for us all initially too!
Overall, Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles have been proud stewards of their iconic primary logo since 1995; continuing its legacy through thick & thin both on & off the field alike. With deep roots embedded firmly within our culture; may we continue onward together forevermore embracing always whatever comes next ahead ever onward marching bravely forth…Go EAGLES!
