Broncos Alternate Logo
The Western Michigan Broncos have been a part of NCAA athletics since the early 1900s, and throughout their history, they’ve had several alternate logos to represent the team. These alternate logos are often used for special occasions or to commemorate certain events, such as championships or anniversaries. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at some of the most interesting and memorable Western Michigan Broncos alternate logo designs from over the years.
One of the earliest known examples is a “WMU Bronco” logo that was used back in 1932 when they first joined what would eventually become Division I-A football (now known as FBS). This design featured a brown horse with its front legs raised in mid-air while wearing an orange saddle blanket with two white stripes running down each side; it also included WMU lettering on top and bottom along with stars surrounding it all. This classic design has been seen sporadically ever since then but hasn't been widely adopted by fans yet due to its age.
The next major alteration came in 1972 when WMU changed their primary color scheme from maroon & gold to navy blue & gold – this prompted them to create another version that showed off these new colors more prominently than before: a navy blue horse wearing an orange blanket adorned with three yellow stars above its head (representing victory) plus “WMU BRONCO FOOTBALL” written beneath it all below two crossed lances representing courage/bravery/valor etc...This one became quite popular amongst students during that era who proudly displayed posters featuring this image around campus buildings like dormitories etc…
A few other variations have appeared over time including one created for use during bowl games which features an enlarged version of our original 1932 mascot standing atop four interlocking W's - symbolizing the unity between players coaches staff alumni parents supporters etc. Another notable example can be found on our official website where there are currently no less than seven distinct versions available ranging from traditional illustrations through modernized interpretations right up until today's current iteration featuring nothing more than just plain text "Western Michigan University" written across both sides!
All told these various incarnations to demonstrate how much effort has gone into preserving not only Western Michigan University's athletic tradition but also celebrating past successes while looking forward to continued excellence well into future generations too! We hope you enjoyed learning about some interesting aspects related specifically to WMUs' Alternate Logo History here today – Go Broncos!!
