Falcons Wordmark Logo
The Bowling Green Falcons have a long and proud history of collegiate athletics, dating back to the 1930s. The school’s wordmark logo has been around since then, but it has undergone several changes over the years.
The first version of the Bowling Green Falcons wordmark was created in 1939 by legendary graphic designer Henry Wolf. It featured a bold “BG” lettering with an eagle perched atop it – symbolizing strength and courage – surrounded by two stars representing excellence in academics and athletics. This design remained unchanged for nearly three decades until 1967 when it was modernized with cleaner lines and updated colors that better reflected those of their athletic teams at the time: orange, brown, white & black (the current colors).
In 1988 another redesign took place under new art director Bob Pritchard who simplified both BG letters while adding more detail to them as well as making minor adjustments to other elements such as star size/placement etc…This version is still used today though there have been slight modifications made over time such as color palette updates or font tweaks here & there; all aimed at keeping up with changing trends while remaining true to its original look & feel from 1939-1967 period which remains highly recognizable among fans worldwide even now!
In recent years this classic mark has seen some additions like introducing a secondary logo featuring an alternate take on their traditional falcon mascot head silhouette accompanied by various versions including one specifically designed for NCAA competition purposes only - offering yet another way for supporters to show off their loyalty towards team pride no matter where they are located or what sport they may be watching!
As we can see throughout its evolution process - from early inception through multiple iterations till present day usage - The Bowling Green Falcons Wordmark Logo continues to be part of the university's rich heritage providing visual identity representation within the sports world community thanks largely due to iconic design choices made during initial stages which continue resonating across generations even now after almost 80+ years since its debut appearance back in 1939...
