Bruins Wordmark Logo
The Belmont Bruins have a long and storied history in the NCAA, and their wordmark logo is no exception. The current logo was designed by Nike in 2010 as part of an effort to modernize the team’s look. It features a bold black-and-gold color scheme with “Belmont” written across the top of a shield shape that contains two crossed swords. This design has become iconic for Belmont fans, who proudly wear it on clothing and other merchandise to show their support for the team.
Before this new design was unveiled, however, there were several different logos used throughout Belmont's time as an NCAA member school. The first one featured two knights with swords facing each other inside of what looks like castle walls or towers; this version dates back all the way to 1959 when they joined Division I athletics (then called College Division). In 1967 another variation emerged featuring just one knight holding his sword high above his head while standing atop some kind of crest or shield; it remained until 1981 when yet another change took place which included three stars around a central circle containing “BRUINS” lettering within its perimeter lines - although not officially adopted by any athletic program at that point still became popular among students/alumni alike due its unique style & colors (red/yellow).
Finally from 1986 through 2009 there existed perhaps the most recognizable predecessor: A classic blue & yellow circular seal featuring “BELMONT BRUINS” text along the bottom half surrounded by laurel leaves on either side plus a single star near the top center – symbolizing excellence achieved both academically athletically! Although beloved many fans today prefer a more modernized take created 10 years ago which continues to serve us well into future generations come!
