Razorbacks Alternate Logo
The Arkansas Razorbacks have a long and storied history in college athletics, especially in the sport of football. The team has had several alternate logos over the years to represent different eras and styles. These logos are an important part of the university’s identity, as well as its fans’ sense of pride for their beloved team.
One popular alternate logo is called “the Running Razorback” which was designed by former athletic director Frank Broyles in 1964. It features a fierce-looking razorback hog running with its head held high and tusks pointing forward while wearing an Arkansas red jersey with white side panels featuring two crossed bayonets underneath it representing strength and courage on the field or court of competition. This logo was used until 1997 when it was replaced by another design known as “the Fierce Hog” which featured a more modern look including larger ears, fangs showing from its mouth, and eyes that were slightly narrowed giving off an intimidating glare all while still wearing his red jersey adorned with two crossed bayonets under him representing power on game day no matter what opponent he may face!
In 2006 yet another redesign came about for this iconic mascot known simply as “Big Red" which showed off even more detail than ever before such as wrinkles around his snout to give him character along with sharper-looking teeth that would make any opposing player think twice about crossing paths on game day! This version also included longer legs outstretched ready for action at all times just like our teams do each week during competition season! Big Red continues to be one of our most recognizable symbols today making sure everyone knows who we are: THE ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS!!!
