Thunderbirds Alternate Logo
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds have a long and storied history in the NCAA. One of the most recognizable symbols associated with this team is their alternate primary logo, which has been around since 2005. This logo features a thunderbird silhouette against an orange background, along with the words “Southern Utah” written in a white font below it. The design was created by former SUU basketball player Michael Vranes and his wife Andrea to give fans something unique to identify with when cheering on their favorite team.
At first glance, some may think that this logo isn't particularly special or creative - but there's more than meets the eye here! According to Vranes himself, he chose an abstract image of a thunderbird because it symbolizes strength and power - two qualities that are essential for any successful sports program. Additionally, he chose orange as one of its colors because it's representative of both fire (in reference to SUU’s mascot) as well as a passion for athletics at all levels within the school community itself; these elements combine together nicely into one strong visual package!
Overall then, while not overly complex or flashy in nature – Southern Utah Thunderbirds' alternate primary logo still holds significant meaning behind its simple design choices: strength & power from its iconic bird-like shape; fire & passion from its bright color choice; plus unity amongst students/fans alike through how they can easily recognize/identify themselves when wearing apparel featuring said emblematic badge proudly upon them! All things considered then – no matter what happens on game day itself – we can always count on seeing our beloved T-Bird iconography everywhere we go…and that’s definitely something worth celebrating each time out too!!
