Black Knights Alternate Logo

The Army Black Knights are one of the most iconic college football teams in the NCAA. With a proud history that dates back to 1890, their logo has been an integral part of their identity and is recognized by fans around the world. However, not many people know about the team’s alternate logos throughout its history.

In 1997, Army introduced its first-ever alternate logo for use on uniforms and merchandise: a black knight with his sword drawn atop a shield featuring three stars from West Point's coat of arms. The design was used until 2003 when it was replaced with another version that featured only two stars instead of three; this new look lasted until 2009 when it was retired in favor of yet another variation featuring just one star.

In 2015, Army unveiled what would become known as “the modern era” Black Knight logo – an updated version that features two crossed swords beneath an eagle perched atop a shield adorned with four stars representing each branch within U.S Military Academy at West Point (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marines). This current design has remained unchanged since then and continues to be seen on helmets, jerseys & other apparel associated with Army Football today!

While all these different versions have come & gone over time they continue to serve as reminders of both present & past eras within the program’s storied history – something we can all appreciate no matter our allegiance or affiliation!
