Orange Alternate Logo
The Syracuse Orange alternate logo has a long and storied history. It dates back to the late 19th century when it was first used as an athletic symbol by the university’s football team. The original design featured a large orange “S” surrounded by four smaller white stars, representing the school's teams at that time: baseball, basketball, track & field, and football. This logo was used for decades until 1985 when it was replaced with an updated version featuring two interlocking S-shaped icons and one star representing all sports teams at Syracuse University.
In 2003, this design underwent another update to make it more modernized and contemporary looking while still maintaining its classic elements from before, such as the orange color scheme and iconic lettering style of “Syracuse” across its center portion. In 2017 yet another redesign took place where they changed up some minor details, like making both S-shapes slightly more significant than before while adding two additional stars on either side to represent all current varsity sports programs offered at SU today (men's/women's). This is their official alternate logo, which can be seen proudly displayed on various products like apparel or signage around campus grounds during game days!
Overall throughout its lengthy existence over many years since first being introduced back in 1891, The Syracuse Orange Alternate Logo has gone through multiple iterations but always managed to stay true to what makes it so recognizable - Its traditional colors combined with bold lettering that conveys who you are cheering for no matter what sport may be taking place! Whether you're attending games or just showing your spirit elsewhere, this mark will remain synonymous with prideful support towards those wearing orange & blue uniforms everywhere!
