Crimson Tide Alternate Logo
The Alabama Crimson Tide has a long and storied history of success, both on the field and off. One of the most iconic symbols associated with this team is their alternate logo. This logo has been used throughout the years to represent different eras in Alabama's football program as well as its overall brand identity.
The first iteration of this logo was created in 1970 by artist Bill Stephens, who drew inspiration from an old school crest that had been used at The University of Alabama since 1892. It featured two crossed sabers with a shield-shaped background containing three stars representing each branch of service: Army, Navy, and Air Force (later replaced by Marine Corps). This design would become known simply as “the saber” or “the A” for short due to its resemblance to the letter "A".
In 2009, a new version was unveiled which incorporated elements from previous designs while introducing some modern touches such as brighter colors and sharper lines for increased visibility when viewed on television screens or computer monitors. The current design features two crossed sabers set against an orange background surrounded by white trimming; within it sits three stars symbolizing loyalty, courage & strength – all essential traits needed for any successful team! Additionally, there are also four stripes along either side which signify unity amongst players & fans alike - something that can be seen during every game day experience at Bryant-Denny Stadium!
