Bisons Wordmark Logo

The Lipscomb Bisons have a long and storied history that dates back to the late 19th century. In recent years, the university has undergone several changes in its logo design, including an update to its iconic wordmark logo. The current version of this logo was unveiled in 2017 and is a modern take on the original mark which had been used since 1992.

The original version of this wordmark featured two stacked lines with “Lipscomb” written across them. This simple yet effective design conveyed strength and stability while also representing the school’s commitment to excellence in academics as well as athletics. It also served as an easy way for fans to recognize their team when they were away from campus or watching games on television or online streaming services such as ESPN3 or CBS Sports Network (formerly CSTV).

In 2017, Lipscomb updated their look by introducing a new iteration of their classic wordmark featuring bolder lettering along with some subtle shading effects that give it more depth and character than before. Additionally, they added two small stars above each letter which are meant to represent both academic achievement (the star at the top) and athletic success (the one at the bottom). These stars signify how important these aspects are for any successful college program today - something that can be seen clearly within all facets of life associated with Lipscomb University!

Overall, we believe this updated look better reflects who we are today – one part tradition-rich institution but still very much focused on preparing students for success beyond graduation day through our rigorous curriculum offerings & diverse extracurricular activities!
