Grizzlies Primary Logo
The Montana Grizzlies have a long and proud history of athletic excellence, and their primary logo has been part of that story since the beginning. The original logo was designed in 1972 when the team first adopted its official nickname, “Grizzlies”. It featured a grizzly bear head surrounded by two concentric circles with an orange outline to represent the colors associated with Montana – blue and gold.
Over time, this classic design evolved into something more modern while still maintaining its traditional look. In 1995, designers updated it to include an image of a mountain range behind the grizzly bear head as well as additional detailing on both circles around it. This version is what we know today as the official primary logo for the all University of Montana athletics teams – including football, basketball, and other sports programs at UM's Missoula campus
In addition to being used on uniforms for various sports teams throughout university campuses across America (and even internationally!), this iconic Grizzly Bear Logo can also be seen adorning hats & apparel worn by fans everywhere! From t-shirts & hoodies to coffee mugs & keychains - you'll find plenty of ways to show your support for UM Athletics no matter where you are!
As one might expect from such an enduring symbol representing pride in our state’s flagship university - there is no shortage of enthusiasm surrounding every iteration or adaptation made over time; whether subtle or dramatic changes occur within each new graphic rendition produced along life's journey...the spirit remains alive through generations past present future alike!
