Spartans Wordmark Logo
Michigan State Spartans are one of the most recognizable logos in college sports. The iconic logo has been around since 1955 when it was designed by art professor Robert C. Voigt. Since then, it has become a symbol of pride and excellence for Michigan State University and its athletics program.
The original Spartan helmet design featured two crossed swords with an "M" on the front side and an "S" on the back side, representing Michigan State University's initials at that time (MSU). It also featured a green background to represent MSU's school colors – green and white – as well as gold accents to signify courage and strength among Spartan athletes. Over time, minor changes have been made to this classic logo such as adding more detail or changing up certain elements like shading or font size; however, its overall look remains largely unchanged from when it first debuted over 65 years ago!
Today this timeless mark stands proudly atop helmets worn by all MSU teams during competition while being seen across apparel items sold throughout campus stores worldwide - making sure everyone knows who they are cheering for: Go Green! Go, White! Go Sparty!!!
