Texas A&M Aggies
The state of Texas is in maroon with white and maroon trim with initials “ATM.” The large letter “T” in the middle is in white with a maroon bevel and letters “AM” on either side in white. A darker shade of the color maroon. As the only SEC member in Texas at the time, the logo was created in 2012 to invoke a sense of state pride. In January 2021, the Lone Star logo became the primary logo.
Aggies Wordmark Logo
The Texas A&M Aggies wordmark logo has been an important part of the university’s history since its inception in 1876. The original logo was a simple “Aggie” script, which featured the letter “A” and a star to represent the Lone Star State. Over time, this design evolved into what we now recognize as one of college sports' most iconic logos: The Texas A&M Aggies wordmark with maroon trim around it.
This evolution began in 1950 when legendary coach Bear Bryant took over at Texas A&M and wanted to create an image that would be associated with his team for years to come. He commissioned artist Henry Prentiss Armsby Jr., who created several variations before settling on what is now known as "the classic" version – featuring bold block letters outlined by white trim inside of two black lines set against a maroon background – which first appeared on uniforms during Coach Bryant's tenure in 1954-55 season.
Since then, there have been slight modifications made to the design but overall it remains largely unchanged from its original form more than sixty years ago; making it one of college sports' oldest logos still used today! It is also widely recognized throughout both collegiate athletics and popular culture alike due to its unique blend of traditionalism yet modern appeal - signifying strength while simultaneously representing loyalty amongst generations past present & future!
