Texans Primary Logo
The Tarleton State Texans have been a staple in the NCAA for many years, and their primary logo has seen some changes over time. From its original design to its modern version, the primary logo of this Texas-based team has become an iconic symbol recognized by sports fans everywhere.
The Tarleton State Texans first debuted their primary logo in 1957 when they joined the Lone Star Conference (LSC). The initial design featured a white "T" with a red star at its center and two lines extending outward from each side. This simple yet recognizable emblem was used until 1965, when it was replaced with an updated version featuring more intricate details, such as black outlining around the lettering and stars and thicker lines on either side.
In 1991, however, another significant change happened to give us what we know today - The Texan head silhouette inside an orange circle surrounded by blue trimming along with "Tarleton State University" written below it all in white letters; this became known as “the classic” look which remains widespread among students and alumni alike! It wasn't until 2004 that any further modifications were made: adding two small stars above/below left/right sides respectively, plus changing some colors here and there (e.g., replacing light gray background coloration w/a darker navy shade).
In recent years though – starting the 2016–17 academic year – school administration decided to go back to basics while introducing new elements into the mix, like silver accents & thickened lettering within the “TSU” portion, creating a unique blend between old traditional style current trends collegiate athletics branding landscape. All these changes combined resulted in what now stands as one most recognizable logos college sports world!
