Eagles Primary Logo
Morehead State University is a public university located in Morehead, Kentucky, and is the home of the Eagles. The school's athletics teams compete at both the NCAA Division I and Division II levels. While its athletic program has seen much success over its history, one thing that remains constant throughout it all is its iconic logos.
The first logo used by Morehead State was an eagle perched atop a shield with wings outstretched to either side – representing strength and courage – which dates back to 1969 when they adopted this design as part of their official branding package for athletics programs across campus. The shield featured two stars on top along with three stripes below them symbolizing excellence in academics, sportsmanship & leadership respectively while also incorporating blue & white colors into its overall aesthetic appeal making it easily recognizable amongst other schools’ logos that time period too!
In 1997 however; there was a slight change made when blue became more dominant than white within this primary logo as well as some minor alterations being done around edges/corners so that everything looked more modernized yet still retained the same basic look from the original version which had been around since ‘69s inception date! This updated emblem continues today but now includes additional elements such MSU wordmark underneath the main image or different color combinations depending upon sport (the eagle head alone can be found in various shades including black).
