Vandals Wordmark Logo

The University of Idaho Vandals has long been recognized for their unique and distinct wordmark logo. The iconic “V” with a shield has become synonymous with the university, representing its proud history and traditions.

In 2009, the school unveiled its new official wordmark logo to celebrate the 125th anniversary of U of I's founding in 1894. This updated version featured a bolder typeface that was more modern than previous designs while still retaining many elements from past logos such as the classic “V” shape and shield motifs.

In 2013, an even more distinctive design was introduced which included two shades of silver on either side to create an eye-catching 3D effect along with sharper edges throughout for added impact when viewed from any angle or distance away from it. Moreover, this latest version also includes subtle references to both Idaho state symbols – namely mountains (represented by triangles) as well as wheat (represented by lines). Additionally, there is also a nod toward Native American culture via arrowheads at each corner. All these features make up what is now known today as one of college sports' most recognizable logos -the University Of Idaho Vandals Wordmark Logo!
