The Southern Jaguars, a Division 1 college football team located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana have had an interesting history with their alternate logo. The team has been around since the late 1960s and has gone through several changes over the years. In recent years, they have adopted an alternate logo that is more modern and reflects their identity as a powerhouse program in the NCAA.

The current Southern Jaguars’ alternative logo features two jaguars facing each other with one paw raised above its head while holding onto a green ball representing “the spirit of competition” according to official sources from the LSU Athletics Department. This design was created by former student-athlete Robert Lipscomb who also designed many of LSU's logos including those for Tiger Stadium and Mike VI Memorial Park among others.
