Bearcats Alternate Logo
The Cincinnati Bearcats have a long and proud history, dating back to 1885. Throughout the years, their athletic teams have been known for their excellence in competition. As such, the team has had several different logos over its existence. The earliest logo was a cartoon-style bear with a “C” on its chest and two stars above it – this design was used from 1912 until 1928 when it changed to an image of a live bear wearing boxing gloves and holding up two paws in victory. This logo remained unchanged until 1972 when it switched again; this time to an anthropomorphic version of the same animal wearing shorts with stripes down each side as well as armbands that read “UC” standing for the University of Cincinnati – which is what they were known at that time before changing names again later on in 1978 after joining NCAA Division I athletics programs across America under a new name: The Cincinnati Bearcats!
Since then there have been various iterations featuring minor changes like color or font but overall keeping true to the original design concept while also adding modern touches here and there so fans can recognize instantly who they are cheering for! For example, one popular version includes bolder colors (red & black) along with white outlining around edges making them stand out more against any background surface whether be a game day t-shirt or stadium wall mural - no matter where you look these days chances are good will see some type variation iconic mascot proudly representing UC's legacy success both past present future generations come support alma mater proudly!
Finally today we still use the same basic shape idea from the early 20th century albeit updated slightly to match current trends and technology available we give our beloved symbol a fresh yet familiar feel at all times ensuring everyone knows exactly who rooting for every single play season year-round regardless location venue setting context situation might find ourselves within - Go Cats!!
