Skyhawks Wordmark Logo
As a sports fan, you may have noticed that the Stonehill Skyhawks have a unique and iconic logo. This logo, known as the Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo, has a rich history that dates back to the early days of the university's athletic program.
The Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo was first introduced in the late 1960s when the university was still known as Stonehill College. At the time, the athletic teams did not have an official logo and were called the "Chieftains." However, in 1968, the college underwent a name change to Stonehill College, and a new logo was needed to represent the school’s athletic program.
The new logo was designed by a student named John McLaughlin, who was studying art at the time. The logo featured a bold, italicized font spelling out "Stonehill" with a small hawk perched on top of the letter "S." The design was simple yet powerful, and it quickly became the official logo of the Stonehill Skyhawks.
In the early 1970s, the Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo changed slightly. The font was changed to a more modern and bold style, and the hawk was given a more aggressive look, with its wings spread out and its talons extended. This version of the logo was used for several decades and became synonymous with the Stonehill athletic program.
In 2003, the Stonehill Skyhawks were rebranded, and the wordmark logo was updated again. The new logo featured a sleeker and more modern font, with the hawk now flying upwards, symbolizing the team's determination and drive for success. The logo's colors were also changed to a more vibrant blue and gold, giving the logo a more dynamic and energetic feel.
The Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo has remained relatively unchanged since 2003, with only minor updates to the font and colors. It has become a recognizable symbol of the university's athletic program and is proudly displayed on team uniforms and merchandise throughout the campus.
One of the most exciting aspects of the Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo is its versatility. It can be used in various colors and backgrounds without losing its impact. This has allowed the logo to evolve and remain relevant throughout the years.
In addition to its visual appeal, the Stonehill Skyhawks wordmark logo also holds a deeper meaning. The hawk, a powerful
