Orange Primary Logo
The Syracuse Orange primary logo has a long and storied history. It dates back to the 1920s when the school’s athletics program first used it. The original design featured an orange “S” on a blue background with white trim, still recognizable today as the classic Syracuse logo. Since then, this iconic symbol has been several iterations over time to reflect changes in style and fashion trends throughout its nearly 100-year existence.
In 2003, an updated version of the primary logo featured sharper lines and bolder colors for a more modern look. This new design also included two additional elements: an orange basketball outlined in white above the letter “S” as well as three stars at each corner representing past NCAA championships won by Syracuse teams since 1925 (1925 men's lacrosse; 1959 men's basketball; 2004 women's lacrosse). These additions made it easier for fans to recognize their beloved team from afar while also paying homage to its success on the field or court over many decades of competition against some of college sports' most formidable opponents!
Today, this timeless image is emblazoned across apparel items such as t-shirts or hats worn proudly by students and alumni all around campus - not just during game days. Still, any day they want to show off their Orange pride! No matter what form it takes - whether vintage or modernized - one thing remains constant: The iconic "S" will always remain synonymous with Syracuse University Athletics no matter how much time passes!
