Tigers Primary Logo
The Texas Southern Tigers Primary Logo has a long and storied history in NCAA sports. It was first adopted in the early 1950s when the school changed its name from Houston College for Negroes to Texas Southern University. The logo is an iconic symbol of pride for both current students and alumni alike, representing their commitment to excellence on the field of play as well as off it.
The primary mark features a stylized ‘T’ with two stripes running through it that represent strength and unity amongst all members of the university community - faculty, staff, students, and alumni alike. This logo was designed by art professor William Easley who wanted to create something that would be easily recognizable while still conveying power and purpose behind it; he accomplished this perfectly with his design which has become synonymous with TSU athletics ever since its adoption over sixty years ago!
Today this classic emblem can be found on everything from team uniforms to merchandise items like hats or t-shirts – showing just how much pride is associated with being part of such an esteemed institution like Texas Southern University! With every game played wearing these colors or sporting these logos around town fans are reminded why they chose TSU: because here at Tiger Stadium we strive not only for victory but also excellence in everything we do - no matter what sport may come our way!
