Rockets Primary Logo
The Toledo Rockets have been a part of the NCAA since the early 1950s and their primary logo has seen many changes over the years. The first iteration of this iconic logo was introduced in 1954 when it featured a rocket ship with an orange flame shooting out from behind it. This design remained largely unchanged until 1970 when an updated version was released that featured two stars flanking either side of the rocket ship and changed its orientation to pointing diagonally upwards instead of straight ahead as before.
In 1977, another update was made to include three stars around the rocket ship along with adding some color variations by introducing yellow into its design scheme for added contrast against its background colors – blue and white at that time. In 1998 there were further modifications made to add more detail such as outlining each star separately rather than having them all connected together which had been done previously; additionally, stripes were also included in order to give off a more motion-like effect while still maintaining a classic look from earlier versions too!
Over time these subtle tweaks have kept up with modern trends without straying too far away from what makes this logo so recognizable throughout college sports today: namely being able to represent both strengths through power (rocket) & loyalty/passion (stars). As we move forward into future decades hopefully fans will continue seeing updates like these keeping alive tradition while staying relevant within changing times!

In 1961, The University of Toledo procured a genuine rocket from the U.S. Army. The one-ton rocket resides at the northeast corner of the Glass Bowl (football stadium) and is pointed 25 miles south toward Bowling Green State University, a rival of UT. The design of the logo matches that rocket on campus.
