The Virginia logo features a large orange with highlights letter “V” with a blue outline and two blue sabers crisscrossed underneath. “After the release of our new logos on April 24, I was made aware of the negative connotation between the serpentine walls and slavery,” Williams said in a news release. “I was not previously aware of the historical perspective indicating the original 8-foot-high walls were constructed to mask the institution of slavery and enslaved laborers from public view.
Cavaliers Alternate Logo
The Virginia Cavaliers have a long and storied history of athletics, with their iconic blue and orange colors standing out among the competition. The team also has an alternate logo that is just as recognizable to fans. This alternate logo has been around since the early 2000s when it was first introduced to represent the University of Virginia's commitment to excellence in sports.
The original design featured two crossed swords atop a shield-shaped background with “UVA” printed in bold block letters. In 2015, this design underwent some changes; most notably, the swords were replaced by three stars above “UVA” while maintaining its overall shape and color scheme. This change was intended to signify strength through unity - something that all Cavalier teams strive for each season they compete in collegiate sports events across America.
Today, this updated version of UVA's alternate logo can be seen adorning jerseys worn by student-athletes during games or even on merchandise sold at stores across campus or online retailers worldwide – making it one of college sport’s most famous logos ever created! It serves as a reminder not only for current students but future generations about what makes UVA so unique: its commitment to excellence inside and outside athletic arenas!
