Spiders Alternate Logo

The Richmond Spiders have a long and proud history of athletic excellence. From their NCAA Division I basketball program to their many other sports teams, the Spiders have consistently been one of the top-performing schools in collegiate athletics. But what many people don't know is that over the years, they've also had some unique and interesting alternate logos as well!

For starters, there was an "R" logo used from 1989-1993 which featured a spider with its legs forming an R for Richmond. This logo was popular among fans at the time but eventually phased out due to its dated design. In 1994, another alternate logo appeared featuring two spiders facing each other on either side of a shield containing two crossed swords with a banner reading “Richmond” underneath them all - this version would last until 2004 when it too was replaced by something more modern looking (and less intimidating).

In 2005 came yet another new look: A simple black spider head outlined in gold set against white background became known as “Spiderman” by fans who embraced it quickly despite being toned down compared to previous designs; this one lasted until 2014 when yet again things changed up once more - introducing us all to our current primary Spider Logo which features three red eyes against black body set inside circle ring around words “Richmond University".

Overall these changes show just how much thought goes into creating successful branding campaigns for colleges like The University Of Richmond – even if sometimes those decisions may not be popular at first glance! It's clear that whatever direction future logos take us in next; we can always count on them representing both quality athleticism and style alike.
