Cowboys Alternate Logo

As a sports fan, you know that team logos can become an essential part of the identity and tradition of a school. For McNeese State University's Cowboys, this is undoubtedly true! The history of their alternate logo dates back to the 1950s and has gone through several iterations over time.

In 1955, McNeese first introduced its iconic “Cowboy” logo featuring an image of a cowboy in his traditional western attire with a lasso atop two crossed revolvers. This design was used for nearly 40 years until 1993, when it was replaced by another Cowboy-themed design that featured only one revolver instead of two and more modernized details, such as stars on the hat brim and spurred on each boot heel. 2004 another new version emerged, featuring some elements from previous designs. It also included new features like flames coming out from underneath the horse hooves and additional details around them, including snowflakes or sparkles, depending upon how they were rendered at any given moment.

The current version came into existence in 2010 when it received minor changes to refine its look further while maintaining much of what had made previous versions so popular among fans over time: namely, strong ties between Western imagery & culture combined with subtle nods towards contemporary trends within fashion & style that make up today’s college athletics landscape across America – all wrapped up into one great looking package!
