Raiders Alternate Logo
The Colgate Raiders have a long and storied history in NCAA athletics, and their alternate logo is no exception. The original logo was designed by the late John R.G. Tucker back in 1925 when he was hired to design the official athletic emblem for the school's football team. The classic look of this logo has been used ever since, with minor tweaks over time to keep up with changing trends in graphic design and fashion tastes.
The iconic shield shape of the Colgate Raider’s alternate logo symbolizes strength, courage, and boldness – all traits that embody what it means to be a Raider athlete or fan! It features two crossed swords behind an outlined letter “C” which stands for “Colgate University” while also representing fraternity among athletes competing at any level within college sports programs across America today as well as yesterday-a true sign of unity between players on one team regardless if they are playing Division I or Division III ball!
Over time there have been some slight variations made to this timeless classic such as adding stars around its edges (for those who served our country) or replacing traditional black & white colors with maroon & grey ones (to represent current teams). However, despite these small changes being made throughout decades past - one thing remains constant: The spirit behind every version will always remain strong; something we can all take pride in knowing even after so many years go by!
As you can see from its rich history spanning nearly 100 years now - there is much more than meets eye when it comes to looking into why people love wearing/displaying this particular piece of artwork so dearly both inside and outside collegiate circles alike… And hopefully, continue doing so for many more generations to come too!!
